Welcome to the Shirley Bassey Music and Vids Channel. I hope that you all will take some time to enjoy the 775+ Recordings and/or Video footage I have uploaded from the past 63+ years of Shirley's work in the Recoding and Television industry. Dame Shirley is the largest selling female artists from the UK, and she was inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000. Of course, an artist can't sell the amount of records this lady has sold without singing a wide variety of music, and anyone who takes some unbiased time to watch just of few of these uploads will understand this. And, of course, it's her unique, powerful VOICE. To many listeners outside of the UK Shirley is well known for her three James Bond Theme Songs, Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, and Moonraker. Fans continue to come back because of her powerful VOICE and wonderful expressions that come across when she performs live, which is extremely unique amongst the POP singers of both yesterday and today.

Newell wrote many of Shirley's biggest hits. Shirley delivers this inspirational movie theme ballad with unbelievable sensitivity combined with a powerful vocal delivery, which is she is well known for around the world.
This single was released by Towerbell records on March 19, 1984. This song was Side-A, and the song, He Needs Me, from the same movie, was the Side-B track.
ABOUT the Movie, "Champions" - This was the true story released in 1984 about Bob Champion, a British steeple chase jockey who, in 1979 was diagnosed with testicular cancer. After treatment with an operation to remove the diseased testicle and chemotherapy, Champion recovered and went on to win the 1981 Grand National on the horse, "Aldaniti".

When it comes to Shirley all the conductors watch her very closely as they may have to make a quick change to either speed up or slow down based on her performance. Shirley seldom sings a song the same way. Most won't see it but a good conductor does and reacts instantaneously.
